No matter where your home is, what shape it is in, hospitality turns it into a castle. This home in a village in rural Yunnan Province, China, offered us great hospitality.
A very good clarification of one the most misused passages of Scripture. No righteous act is worth anything as far as salvation goes, but after we belong to Christ, His Spirit works in us, enabling us to do things pleasing to the Father. We may still be unprofitable servants, as Christ’s sacrifice is to high a debt to repay, but that does not mean we cannot be useful servants
Isaiah 64:6 (“all our righteous acts are like filthy rags”) is often quoted by folks as proof that any effort on our part to do good still comes across as pretty putrid in God’s sight. As Kevin DeYoung explains in The Hole in Our Holiness, however, that’s just bad exegesis–and it paints a terribly unflattering (and woefully inaccurate) picture of our God, to us and to the world:
The “righteous deeds” Isaiah has in mind are most likely the perfunctory rituals offered by Israel without sincere faith and without wholehearted obedience. In Isaiah 65:1–7 the Lord rejects Israel’s sinful sacrifices. They are an insult to the Lord, smoke in his nostrils, just like the ritual “obedience” of Isaiah 58 that did not impress the Lord because his people were oppressing the poor. The Continued Evolution of Ta Ethne
Ta Ethne is continuing to grow. 2012 saw some amazing results, many more ministry opportunities and some wonderful friends made from different parts of the world. Resources were added and the support has been overwhelming. 2013 seems to be full of even more opportunity. Currently we are exploring a new web host for our ministry, which will allow us to post videos and podcasts that are more accessible than what we are using now. With the Lord’s blessing, we will be looking to launch the new website before April.
The blog here will continue as before, and hopefully we will be able to integrate it into our new web site as well. WordPress has been a terrific partner, with their customer support being very helpful with us. For that reason, we will continue using this forum as our primary news outlet in keeping you updated with the day-to-day activities here at Ta Ethne.

We also hope to start using our Facebook page more consistently in 2013. So many of our followers use this particular social media application that we are working on a schedule to use our page more effectively.
